For over 30 years, Summertime Pools has been perfecting how we install fibreglass pools. We want to make sure the process is smooth and stress-free, giving you amazing results! Here’s everything you need to know about how we install your pool and how to get ready for your dream backyard.
From dream to reality – your pool journey begins here.
It all starts with you! Whether you’re dreaming of a sleek lap pool, a vibrant family retreat, or a compact urban escape, our experts listen to your vision and do everything in their power to help you achieve your masterpiece. The beginning of the process is our all-important onsite consultation…
During your FREE in-home consultation, one of our local fibreglass pool experts will visit your property to understand your site-specific requirements like soil type, access, and potential challenges. This ensures a smooth installation process from the outset. Your pool consultant will also have a thorough discussion with you and provide tailored recommendations based on your budget, space, and style preferences.
After the site visit, you’ll immediately receive a detailed quote outlining all costs, so you know exactly what to expect—no surprises! At Summertime Pools we believe in trust and transparency. Once you’re happy with the quote, we provide a fixed-price contract, giving you complete peace of mind as we move forward.
Managed by the experts!
Once your contract is signed you will be assigned an experienced local construction manager for your pool installation. Friendly, knowledgeable and on-the-ball, your construction manager will help and guide you through every step of the way!
You’ll also receive a welcome booklet with everything you need to know about the installation process, simply outlined (don’t worry you won’t need a degree in pool construction to understand it).
We handle all the paperwork for council permits and approvals for your fibreglass pool installation – ensuring compliance with Australian regulations. For any additional applications required due to site-specific conditions, such as easements or covenants, we will manage the process on your behalf. Please note that while we handle these applications, any associated costs will be your responsibility.
Two weeks before your swimming pool installation we manufacture your custom fibreglass pool shell with meticulous attention to detail. Built in one of our manufacturing facilities in Victoria, each pool shell is proudly 100% Australian-made and designed to exceed stringent safety and quality standards. Combining advanced materials and expert craftsmanship, we ensure every pool shell is durable, stunning, and built to stand the test of time.
We make sure you are ready for D-Day!
One week before ‘the dig’ you are expected to have your area cleared & ready for us to work onsite. On dig day, our experienced construction team will then swoop in and prepare the location by excavating to precise measurements and creating a stable base for your pool shell. We get rid of all the ‘clean soil’ (soil free from debris, such as concrete, rubble, or other construction waste) for you!
Within 1-2 days of the dig, the fun happens. It’s the part of the installation journey that excites kids (and adults) the most! Your pre-formed fibreglass pool shell is delivered safely to your property on a tailored truck. Using cranes and specialised equipment, we position the shell into the excavation site with precision and care. Everyone gathers round – it’s a free show for the entire neighbourhood!
This is where that magic happens! Fibreglass swimming pool installation should take no more than 10 business days and includes…
The fibreglass shell is positioned in the excavation hole and perfectly levelled before backfilling occurs.
Backfilling is a crucial step in the installation process of a fibreglass pool. It involves filling the space between the pool shell and the surrounding excavated area with material such as sand, or a sand-cement mix while the pool is filled with water to maintain stability. Proper backfilling is a huge part of our 30-year warranty and long-term durability, ensuring your pool remains structurally sound for decades to come.
Your custom-made fibreglass pool and equipment set arrives pre-plumbed. Your electrician is responsible for installing the correct electrical outputs as per your welcome booklet before we arrive. We will connect the pool and equipment, as well as test and commission (lights and filtration) at this stage.
A concrete bond beam is poured around the pool’s edge to secure its structure and provide a stable foundation for your pool’s surrounding features like paving or decking.
Your backyard oasis is now ready for you to enjoy! Plus, we provide ongoing customer support through our call centre!
Think about the aesthetic you want to achieve (modern and sleek or elegant and timeless) and any special features you may require like a tanning ledge, entry points, seating etc.
Choose some colour options that best align with your vision and the look you want to achieve in your outdoor oasis.
What water quality best suites your families needs? Do you require additional heating or lighting, or perhaps you want to add a spillover spa?
Consider where you believe the ideal location for your pool should be. Think about sunlight, privacy, and proximity to your home.
You will be provided with a ‘Welcome Book’ that provides you with all the info you need to prepare for your pool installation. In short, you are responsible for:
Clearing the installation site of any obstacles, such as garden furniture, pot plants, trees, plants, bricks, trampolines etc.
Ensuring your electrician installs the correct electrical outputs. accurate information will be provided in your Welcome Booklet
Letting your neighbours know when installation will commence.
5% Payment due upon signing the contract to secure your project.
35% Payment due one week before pool delivery to ensure timely preparation and transport.
Final Balance Invoiced as the remaining work is completed, providing flexibility and transparency.
