STEP 1:

CHOOSE THE WATER YOU WANT TO SWIM IN

Salt Water pool systems are a very simple and cost effective way to treat the water in your new pool.

Our Salt Water pool system requires the pool to be set at 4500 PPM (Parts Per Million) of salt which will generate between 1-3 PPM of chlorine to sanitise the pool.

This system is required to be plumbed on site

Water Quality

Mineral Water pool systems are a more gentle and soft form of water chlorination.

Our Mineral Water pool system only require the pool to be set at 1500 PPM (Parts Per Million) of mineral salt.

The magnesium in the water generates a soft feel and also includes additives to control phosphates.

This system only requires 1 PPM of chlorine to sanitise the pool

Water Quality

Fresh Water pool systems are a modern and innovative form of sanitisation.

This system sanitises your pool by using silver and copper anodes which disinfect and control bacteria. It produces a very small (untraceable) amount of chlorine, ensuring all organic matter in the water is controlled

Our Fresh Water System requires your pool to be at just 600 PPM (Parts Per Million) of salt, making it ideal for anyone with sensitive skin or eyes and breathing conditions.

This system comes pre-assembled, making it easy to install.

STEP 2:

CHOOSE YOUR SWIM SEASON

3 Months – No heater

7 Months – Chilli pool heater

CHILLI POOL HEATER

Extend The Swim Season Of Your Pool

The average swimming season for a pool without heating is approximately 3 months. With advancements in pool heating technology, including inverter hear pumps, we are now able to extend your swimming season by cost effectively hearing your pool for 7 months of the year – and beyond.

Chilli Pool Heater’s are quiet and extremely cost effective to run, allowing you to maximise your investment by swimming longer into the year.

STEP 3:

CHOOSE YOUR ENERGY EFFICIENCY

Energy Efficiency

At Summertime Pools we have teamed up with one of Australia’s leading solar energy providers, designing the integrated Zero Emissions Pool (ZEP) system. ZEP matches the ideal solar and energy efficiency system to your pool requirements, allowing you to heat your pool to 27°C for 7 months of the year, as well as filter and clean your pool for the remaining months – without incurring any additional energy costs.

ZEP is the only system on the market that can claim zero emissions, saving you thousands in comparison to traditional systems.

FAQs

Water that is clean and transparent with balanced pH is the best for any pool. The ideal water source can change depending on usage and preferences as long as it is free of pollutants that can change the water’s chemistry and impact the pool’s equipment and swimmers’ health.

The standard swimming pool water quality in Australia outlines the minimum water chemistry and hygiene requirements. It covers parameters such as pH, total alkalinity, calcium hardness, chlorine, cyanuric acid, and bacteria count and sets limits to ensure safe and comfortable swimming conditions.

Water for pools is considered healthy if they adhere to the Australian Standard for swimming pool water quality. These include:

  • A pH between 7.2 and 7.8
  • 60 to 200 ppm of total alkalinity
  • 100 to 500 ppm of calcium hardness
  • 1-3 ppm of chlorine

Additionally, healthy pool water requires proper filtration, circulation and overall cleanliness.

There are three main options for swimming pool water:

  • Saltwater pools — These pools use a salt chlorine generator to produce chlorine from salt, making the water gentler on the skin and eyes. They also have a lower chlorine odour, which is great for families with kids who spend much time in the pool.
  • Mineral water pools — These contain minerals that help soften the water and positively affect health.
  • Freshwater pools — The water in freshwater pools is typically treated using natural products such as ozone generators or UV systems, which help to keep the water clean and clear. This is an excellent option for those who want to avoid chlorine or salty water.

Each has unique characteristics, advantages and disadvantages, depending on the pool’s location, size, usage and maintenance preferences.

There are three main options for swimming pool water:

Excessive chlorine concentrations in swimming pools are risky because, among other health issues, they can irritate the skin, eyes and respiratory system. The level of free accessible chlorine should be maintained between 1-3 ppm and adjusted as necessary.

The choice between saltwater and freshwater pools largely depends on personal preference and maintenance requirements.  Saltwater pools are often preferred for their lower maintenance requirements and softer, more natural feel. Nevertheless, they may require more expensive equipment. Although freshwater pools sometimes cost cheaper to create and maintain, they often require more regular chemical-level monitoring and treatment.
